A licensed locksmith, a marked van, and a phone that gets answered.
Who we are
Mike Polozzo owns and runs Pier Lock Co. and has worked as a locksmith for five years. Most of that time went to rekeys, lockouts, and installs, and it taught him that most emergency calls trace back to a move where nobody changed the locks. So he built Pier Lock Co. around the scheduled job: the rekey on move-in day, the turnover between tenants, the changeover before a rental's first guest. He answers the phone himself and quotes from the price list on this site.
Pier Lock Co. is the Oceanside trade name of a California-licensed locksmith company. There is no call center. The person who answers the phone is the person who quotes the job, and usually the person who shows up.
Why moves and rentals
Oceanside is a city that moves. Camp Pendleton sends families in and out on orders every summer, the rentals near the base and downtown turn over on a schedule, and the beach blocks fill with a new set of guests every few nights. Every one of those changes leaves keys behind in someone else's pocket. Most locksmith companies are built around the emergency, the 2 a.m. lockout. We built this one around the move, the scheduled job that keeps the emergency from happening. We still do the lockouts. We would rather rekey your door the day you get the keys.

California requires locksmith companies to hold a BSIS license. If a locksmith cannot give you a license number when you ask, call someone else.
The van
Marked with the name and the license number, parked most days somewhere between the Harbor and San Luis Rey. On it: rekey kits and pinning trays for the common residential keyways, a key machine, a stock of Grade 1 and Grade 2 deadbolts, keypad and smart locks, reinforced strikes, slider and gate hardware, lockboxes, and the tools for a car door. If a job needs something we do not carry, we say so and come back with it instead of improvising.
How we work
- Price on the phone from published rates, confirmed at the door before any work.
- ID or proof of residence on every lockout. No exceptions, even for a good story.
- Non-destructive entry first. Drilling is explained before it happens, and it rarely happens.
- Photo invoice by text or email on every job.
- No upsell scripts. If a rekey is enough, we do not sell you a lock.

The discount is simple: 10% off labor for active duty, reserve, veterans, and spouses, with ID. The terms and what we can do near the base.
